Tuley Park Cultural Center would like to extend an invitation to local artist to join us for an information session to discuss Tuley Park Cultural Center’s plans to formulate an artist incubator and cultural council.
The artist incubator will be one of the products of the Chicago Park District’s, Re:Center initiative. The Re: Center process is a multi-phase cultural organizing and creative placemaking initiative driven by local citizens and anchored in Chicago’s neighborhoods; facilitated through the Chicago Park District’s Arts & Culture Unit. Through the Re:Center process, community members, artists and park staff work to envision Chicagoans as cultural stewards of our public parks. From 2015-2020, the Chicago Park District’s 15 Cultural Centers are collaborating with surrounding communities to re-imagine cultural priorities and programming that speak to the interests of each neighborhood across Chicago’s North, West, and South sides.
As a prelude to Tuley’s Re:Center process we would like to gauge the interest of local artist in creating an artist incubator at Tuley Park Cultural Center. During this information session, participants will learn some of the existing ways artist can collaborate with the cultural center as well as learn about Tuley’s vision for the artist incubator and cultural council.
