Concept and Experience
Designed for the skilled photographer, this workshop will introduce the powerful video features of your DSLR camera and provide a basic foundation in the use of video editing software. Expand your practice, discover the capabilities and limitations of your camera, and gain confidence shooting video in a variety of conditions.
The first part of this workshop will be dedicated to gaining familiarity with your camera's video settings, allowing time for technical instruction, video experiments, and indiviualized feedback. From there, independent and small group shooting assignments will provide you with hands-on experience shooting still and moving imagery, capturing audio, sequencing a story, and editing and exporting files. Facility with your DSLR is required.
Open to intermediate and advanced students.
Stewart Stroup worked for UW-Madison writing, shooting, and editing instructional video projects for the School of Edcuation. After 10 years, he established Grassland Media, Inc. to provide similar services to a wider array of clients, including broadcast, corporate, and institutional clients. Additionally, he is an instructor at Madison College where he teaches video production.
